Few words

Numerous activities such as the street performance of Fotini Meletiadou “One,Two,Free” and musicians such as Flea Market and Grikanta will fill Theodorou Poulidou Street with notes, colors, and laughter, while the impressive show of the percussion group Turukutu promises to pleasantly surprise the visitors of Cosmopolis Festival 2024. Wonderful street entertainers of KIRKO – Circus for ALL will entertain the audience and create a unique atmosphere full of energy, liveliness, and creativity. The animator Matina Daravani promises to amaze our little friends with Disney heroes.

29.07 Street performance “OneTwoFree”  | Poulidou Street (Starts at 20:45)

30.07 Structured improvisation on stage entitled “into the process” | CosmoDances Stage (Starts at 21:00)

Momentum.kva, founded by choreographer and dancer Fotini Meletiadou, presents two performances at the Cosmopolis Festival this year! Her collaborators will be the dancer and actress Konstantina Verrou and the musician Sokratis Votskos.

 

29.07 & 30.07  Street Musicians – Flea Market  | Poulidou Street

The four members of Flea Market (Lia Argiri, Nikos Karachalios, Konstantinos Nikoletos and Dimitris Karakousis) were scattered in different parts of Greece until they found their common ground in Arta – at the University of Traditional Greek Music. Each member had their own unique preferences in music styles until when they all merged and created a plethora of playable genres as well as unique covers of traditional Greek songs.Their repertoire consists of hints of reggae, indie, alternative rock, neo jazz.

 

30.07 Live music – Grikanta  | CosmoDances Stage

Grikanta is an Italian/Greek Folk music group that performs traditional songs of Southern Italy with linguistic influences of ancient Greek dialect. It was formed in early 2015 in Thessaloniki by Pierpaolo Sicuro, a musician and musicologist known for his contribution to the traditional music of Salento (Southern Italy). It consists of six people who come from different musical cultures. The name “Grikanta” comes from the words “griko” (or “grecanico” which is the Greek dialect of Italian) and “canta” (to sing). Grikanta’s music has the melodiousness of the Greek dialect and the power of the rhythm of Pizzica, which is a type of music used as a remedy for spider bites in southern Italy.

KIRKO is a group of artists with long-standing and international experience in the art of circus, aerial expression and street theatre created KIRKO with the main purpose of creating employment opportunities for young artists and the promotion of circus arts to the Greek public.
