Gobi Fish activity is part of the environmental activities of Cosmopolis and will be implemented and coordinated in cooperation with Pythia Social Cooperative Enterprise.
Plastic pollution has become so severe that hundreds of marine species are facing extinction and the oceans are cluttered with trash. The production and reliance on plastic is mainly to blame for the amount of plastic that ends up in the ocean, but it’s also the simple fact that people need to stop littering. At the very least, we can avoid throwing trash directly into the ocean by recycling, composting, or repurposing.
Pythia’s volunteers will cooperate together with volunteers from France, Italy, Romania and Spain in order to deliver to the local society the Gobi Fish. Volunteers will collect plastic from the coast and will participate in the Gobi fish construction.
Gobi fish (a big fish filled of plastic) will decorate Kavala and the deliverable of the Gobi Fish will be under a big ceremony where locals are invited to attend.
Duration: 16th – 29th August
Free entrance for all with many surprises!
